Commercial Fragrance Therapy Helps Cancer

The smell of the perfumes used in the fragrance therapy must be pleasant, grateful, soothing, relaxing and stress relieving. The most astounding fact is that this fragrance therapy is used to heal many types of cancer.

The fragrance that is used in candles is often made by extracting oils from plants and fruits and mixing them together to achieve a certain scent. These essential oils have a nonnutritive dietary component called monoterpenes. Some of these monoterpenes have been found to have antitumor activity.

One example of this can be found in an orange peel, which is 90 percent d-limonene. It has been found to have chemopreventivie activity against skin, lung, rodent mammary, liver and forestomach cancers. They have also found that they get their best results when fed during the initiation stage of cancer.

Perillyl alcohol is another form of commercial fragrance theraphy. It has a promotion phase chemopreventive activity which helps prevent against rat liver cancer. Geraniol protects against murine leukemia cells and has a geraniol vivo antitumor activity. These commercial fragrance therapies have also been found to have chemopreventive activity against pancreatic and mammary turmors.

Mesothelioma is another form of cancer that commercial fragrance therapy is used on. For those of you who are not familiar with mesothelioma, it is a form of cancer that affects the tissues that surrounds and protects certain organs in the body. The tissue that protects the organs is called mesotheliomam and when the cancer invades the protective tissue it causes it to become abnormal. It then multiplies and spreads into the organs and destroys them.

One of the most common types of mesothelioma is called pleural mesothelioma. This type of cancer affects the lining that is protecting your lungs. Other organs in your body that can be affected by mesothelioma are the heart and your abdominal cavity. While there are tumors that are benign, in most cases with anyone who has mesothelioma they unfortunately are not.

Most people who get mesothelioma contract it from inhaling asbestos, which is a substance that was used to build many schools and government buildings. Today, many schools and office buildings have been closed due to the amounts of asbestos in the structure. It took many deaths and illness for people to realize that the asbestos was making them sick.

Because more and more people are developing cancer, both children and adults alike, and new kinds of cancers keep popping up daily, it is imperative that new types of treatments are researched in order to find a cure.

While not everyone believes in holistic healing or alternative medicine there is always a chance that someone will come up with a cure. Commercial fragrance therapy does not offer a miraculous cure, but it has been proven to help in the fight against cancer.
